A founding member of the Beaux Arts Trio, Menahem Pressler has established himself as a leading pianist through a career spanning five decades. Both a chamber and solo performer, his talents have taken him to the world's music capitals.

His precision and knowledge of piano and chamber literature have also gained him an international reputation as a teacher. His career was launched in 1946 when he won first prize at the Debussy International Piano Competition in San Francisco.

Since then, he has toured the world performing with leading orchestras and conductors. His chamber music collaborations have included the Juilliard, Emerson, Guarneri and Cleveland Quartets as well as the Israel Quartet and the Pasquier String Trio.

In 1955, he began his association with the music school at Indiana University where he holds the rank of Distinguished Professor of Music. In addition to over 50 recordings with the Beaux Arts Trio, he has compiled over 30 solo recordings, ranging from the works of Bach to Ben Haim. In 1998 he received the prestigious Gramophone Lifetime Achievement Award.
